One more idea.... I picked up several of these lunch tins at Target also and put together a " Winter Survival Kit" including hot cocoa mix, lip balm, hand lotion, and the cutest mini marshmellows oh and reindeer tissues ! These will be teacher gifts and all I had to do was fill them and add ribbon!

six weeks behind !

Whoh ! I didn't realize I am 6 weeks behind on my " Deck of Me" art journal!
But, I will catch up... this week! Can you believe only 5 more cards till the year's end! ( To those who are doing Emily's art journal challenge)! Wasn't this fun? It will be so great to look at year after year! Will you do it again?

This Thanksgiving...

This Thanksgiving, we traded snow for sand ! We drove " home" to be with our families this year. I made it a priority to take my kids to the Gulf to play in the water & sand ! We are so blessed ! I am thankful to God that we made it there and back to our home here safely! Thankful to spend time with family & friends.

2 New Mini Albums

The Apple Orchard Mini... is not my work... I got the idea from a LO in a gallery, I thought it was a million memories, but then I looked there again and could not find it ( wanting to credit the designer), I turned it into a mini album... 8x8. I can take credit for the pumpkin mini... both of the albums... I distressed the ribbon, because it was just too bright. I used a spiral notebook ( flip top spiral ) from Target for the Pumpkin album... just removed paper pages and used cardstock ! $2.49

10 Ways to Celebrate Family Life!

I love this one... " Make a Mess" ( as in crafts) others are sing out loud, go for a ride, play dress up, run away from home ( vacation). Isn't this great! Just though I would share! Anyone makes something of it... let me know!

Grant's 1st Day of School

Grant's 1st day of 4 year old Pre School. This is different from last year in that he now attends in the afternoon! Argh!! What can you do... He was so excited to see his teachers again & his friends from last year... but sooo anxious to go. " When can we go, mom?" and " Is it time to go to Pre school now?" Hear he is ..." first day" picture!

Jackson's first day of school this year ! I can't believe it... a 2nd grader! ( he finds his friend Vincee on the bus to sit with that morning!)

A Pirate Party!

Jackson Turns 7 !

The Pirate Party was so much fun to plan! The treasure hunt was a big hit, I am bummed I didn't get to go along... stayed behind to prepare things for their return. I thought it would be a cool idea for the kids to make their swords/knives to take along on the treasure hunt.... I begin to pass out the pre made swords... to only 1/2 of the 15 pirates at the party!!! PANIC!! I stayed up very late finishing the rest, and failed to place them with the others that were ready to "go"

that they got left behind! Thankfully a great friend offered to retrieve them from my home and in no longer than 15 minutes we were back on track, as I tried to keep boredom from setting in!

All turned out well, at Green Lane Park.... The weather was perfect... a little cool & windy, but nice! The Scene was perfect for a Pirate theme! Happy Birthday Jackson! We Love You!

Being Boys !

The creek is such a fun place for boys to explore! They love playing here! Our friends, the Ryan's played with us yesterday!

I scraplifted from a magazine... sorry, I wish I could remember which magazine it was and the artist to credit. I remember that the LO in the magazine is a digital one. Two Peas has a digi kit

with a brush alphabet... I would love to learn digital techniques... but for now... I used my acrylic paints and brush.

Man, There's so much I want to do... IDEAS... and scrambling just to get them done before I forget and before my brain goes numb and I sink into another slump! Here are 2 photo-less

Layouts. I recite this prayer so much, I have been wanting it in some form or fashion hanging on my wall , but just never purchased a plaque as such, then it came to me... duh! Just create it myself. I don't LOVE LOVE it, but it's a start and I can just do another when I have more ideas

of what I would change about it.... SERENITY PRAYER. Then , going the other way completely.... This is a fun little 9x9 LO inspired by a little cocktail napkin I picked up at my mom's house during my visit.... I love what it says and I love a good " tropical drink" ( little umbrella icluded!) Enjoy!

Waiting...

I have been waiting for my mom to E mail the rest of the pics we took with her camera when I was there. Still no pics, so I'll move on...

CKC was here and I did not go, not even to shop the vendor fair! Annette and I went together last year when she came up for a visit. I worked this weekend, just didn't get around to going.

This is what I have been " creating".... a few " no photo" layouts, a mini album of my guys fishing this Summer, and playing catch up on my deck of me ( 4 weeks behind)! I will post images in a day or 2.

My Alabama

This is My Alabama Gulf Coast ! Isn't it beautiful ! THIS is a white sand beach ! I LOVE IT!I haven't posted in a couple of weeks... my daddy came to visit, then as my in laws came to town to visit I hopped on a plane and went " home" ( my hometown) for a visit with my family, friends, shopping and dining! ( eating everything I possibly could, that I cannot get here... to satisfy my craving for a while!) My parents have a condo at the Gulf and I stayed there 1 night, my girlfriend Annette stayed there with me, we shopped at the local scrapbook store, ate at the Blue Gill we wanted to go to LuLu's but didn't make it. I had a great time! Got to visit with my nephew & sis in law. Spent time with my mom & brother! It was great for me! Re charged!

My weekend...

Me & Annette here , shopping at GiGi's in Foley. This store is HUGE!!! It was great! Got alot of ideas! I love this store, so much variety of local history & happenings! Themes such as hurricanes and Mardi Gras! Beach, hunting & fishing! I love it! It was fun shopping with you Annette! Thanks Girl!

Happy 4th !!

I hope you had a Happy Fourh of July! I must say it is pretty cool to live in an area where so much of our Revolutionary heritage surrounds us! Independence Square in Philadelphia & Valley Forge ! The higlight of this holiday was the fireworks' display at Waltz Golf Farm! WOW!
It seemed to have lasted forever! It was spectacular! Sorry, no photos... it was raining!
